Podcast: Construction firms offer path to jobs at Heriot-Watt's CESC
Heriot-Watt University talks about its partnerships with ALEC, ASGC, Jacobs, and Mott Donald for its Centre of Excellence
Heriot-Watt University Dubai’s director of industry engagement, Olisanwendu Ogwuda, has told Construction Week that it has partnered with ALEC, ASGC, Jacobs, and Mott McDonald for its Centre of Excellence for Smart Construction (CESC), which aims to offer a “pathway” for job opportunities for the students.
Speaking during Construction Viewpoint’s latest episode, Ogwuda spoke about the reasons behind developing the university’s centre of excellence in smart construction and how the partnerships with the construction firms was a “win-win” situation for all involved.
“These companies want to look at making smart construction part of their ethos. We have engaged with these companies through smart projects and initiatives within our university,” Ogwuda told CW.
“These partnerships certainly offer a pathway for our students to be offered job opportunities with these firms. I think the industry will also benefit from these young bright minds in terms of what they can bring to the organisations. It’s a win-win for everyone, the students are contributing to the future operations and business performances from these organisations,” Ogwuda added.
Business leaders are regular podcast special guests.
