CW Awards 2019: Sustainability Initiative of the Year shortlist is out
Five firms have made the shortlist for 2019’s Construction Week Awards, which will be held on 4 December
The shortlisted nominees for the Sustainability Initiative of the Year category at the Construction Week Awards 2019 have been revealed.
The Sustainability Initiative of the Year accolade will be handed to the company that has made a positive contribution to the advance of environmental considerations in construction, while also demonstrating clear practical applications.
Among the companies that have made the shortlist are Nael General Contracting LLC, who launched its reducing the use of plastic initiative across its sites and factories in the UAE from January 2019.
Other construction firms who made the cut are AF Construction for its Sustainability Policy & Better Business strategy, which aims to support UAE Vision 2021 and UN Sustainable Development Goal.
Cundall also made the list for its training programme - the ‘Cundall Diploma’, which offers its staff an understanding of sustainable design – equipping them with the knowledge, tools and confidence necessary to conceive, evaluate and deliver sustainable designs.
The final firm for the category is AESG, who revealed that they were one of the 51 signatories for the World Green Building Councils’ ‘Net Zero Carbon Buildings’ commitment.
In addition, Voltas Oman has been shortlisted for the Sustainability Initiative of the Year honour at the CW Awards 2019 to be held on 4 December at JW Marriott Marquis, Dubai.
