United Nations to launch pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai
Themed ‘We the Peoples: Shaping Our Future Together’, the 'ready-built' pavilion will be part of the three thematic districts
The United Nations is set to have its own pavilion at next year’s Expo 2020 Dubai under the theme ‘We the Peoples: Shaping Our Future Together’ as it commemorates its 75th anniversary.
The theme of the pavilion was announced by Maher Nasser, commissioner-general of the United Nations at Expo 2020 Dubai. It connects the opening words of the Charter of the United Nations adopted in 1945, ‘We the Peoples’, with the 75th anniversary theme of ‘Shaping Our Future Together’.
The pavilion will have a space for events, presentations, discussions and meetings.
The United Nations said they had received “excellent support” from the UAE and told Construction Week it would be a “ready-built” pavilion in one of the three thematic districts that Expo 2020 has built.
Commenting on the announcement of the pavilion, Nasser said: “We are very grateful to the government and people of the UAE, and the organisers, for the opportunity to be part of Expo 2020 and for the generous support provided.”
