Sustainability will be biggest issue of 2011
Conference series to boost environmental awareness Gulf-wide
Construction Week has launched its 2011 conference series, with an increased emphasis on sustainability in the Gulf construction industry.
Building Sustainability into the Middle East, a one day conference focusing on environmental issues relevant to the host city, will be in Jeddah, Riyadh and Abu Dhabi, throughout the year.
“This reflects the groundswell of interest in sustainable building in both Saudi Arabia and the UAE,” said Oscar Wendel, conference manager for Construction Week.
“Over the last three years the sustainability events have grown rapidly, bringing local industry experts together to debate the issues they face every day in striving to make the construction industry have a smaller impact on the environment and consume less resources. Sustainability will be the most talked about issue in 2011.”
The conference series will also feature a special event looking at the challenges ahead for Doha and its hosting of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

March 26, Jeddah - Building Sustainability into the Middle East
April 19, Doha - World Cup Construction
June 1, Riyadh - Building Sustainability into the Middle East
