Timelapse photography of the changing skyline of Shinjuku in Tokyo
These pictures of Shinjuku in Tokyo were shot over a 35 year period, beginning in July 1969 and running until July 2004 - and dramatically show the progression the city has made over that time.
From a relatively flat and featureless city ward in 1969, the area has blossomed to not only become a major commercial and administrative centre, housing the busiest train station in the world (Shinjuku Station) but to also host the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, the administration centre for the government of Tokyo.
If you know of anyone with a similar sequence of shots showing Dubai's rapid growth over the past few decades, we'd love to share it Construction Week readers.
