Saudi Minister of Water and Electricity signs contracts for E Province
Saudi Minister of Water and Electricity, Abdullah bin Abdulrahman Al-Hossein, has signed contracts worth more than $32.8 million for water and sanitation projects in the Eastern Province.
The Director General of Water Department in the Province, Eng. Ahmed bin Abdulrahman Al-Bassam, said the Minister has signed eight contracts with specialised national companies to execute the projects in various parts of the province, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
In terms of power generation specifically, the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) has unveiled a comprehensive investment plan for 2011 that aims to add 1,826 MW to the Kingdom’s grid in 2011.
