The Australasian continent on The World development is now at final design stage. The masterplan for Oqyana-World First island community has been produced by an international consortium of specialists including developers, engineers and architects.

The lead infrastructure and engineering consultant is Scott Wilson, while regional firm Engineering Consulting Group (ECG) will be responsible for the architect of record and development of construction documents. Danish Hydraulic Institute (DHI) is acting as consultant and specialist for water quality.

The lead masterplanner and architectural consultant Global Design Collaborative (GDC) represents a consortium of consultants that includes Belt Collins, Hirsch Bedner, ThinkGDC and GDP. This consortium will design the hospitality properties and villas on the project situated in the Gulf off of Dubai's coastline. Architect Hellmith, Obata & Kassabaum (HOK) will focus on the residential and commercial areas.

Almost 80% of the land reclamation for the development is now complete. It comprises 20 manmade islands across an area of over 1.8 million m2.
