Saudi’s General Housing corporation has appointed the Abdul Mohsen Al-Darsoni Establishment to build 111 new housing units in the Shanan governorate in Hail at a cost of $13.3m.

The two year project is designed to address a shortfall in housing for the region within a reasonably short time scale.

Governor of the General Housing Corporation (GHC) Shuwaish Al-Duwaihi said that the units will cost between $103-115,000. Each will occupy a 500m2 area and will be supplied with water tanks and sanitation.

The corporation will establish criteria to prioritise applications for the properties, and payments will be made in instalments over 25-30 year periods.
