Three dead, 11 injured in KSA scaffolding collapse
Probe launched into deaths at Princess Noura University campus project
Saudi authorities have launched an investigated in to a worksite accident at the Princess Noura bint Abdul Rahman University east of Riyadh in which killed three workers and injured 11 others when a section of scaffolding collapsed on Monday.
First Lt. Muhammad Al-Hubail, deputy spokesman for the Civil Defense in the Riyadh province, told reporters from local newspaper Arab News that work at the construction site would be stopped until investigations are completed.
“We are now trying to find out the reasons for the collapse of the scaffolding at the construction site, causing deaths and injuries,” he told the paper. He refused to speculate on the cause of the collapse.
The 11 injured workers are being treated at three different hospitals in Riyadh.
