Deutsche Messe Worldwide Dubai, organiser of Domotex Middle East, is reporting strong interest in the 2011 edition of the floor coverings trade show, as a growing number of companies look to enter the lucrative flooring markets of the MENA region.

Co-located alongside R+T Middle East, a trade fair for roller shutters, doors, gates and sun protection systems, Domotex Middle East is will take place from September 12 to 14 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Domotex Middle East is a spin-off of Domotex Hannover, which attracted 40,000 professionals from 87 countries to its 2011 edition. A total of 1,350 exhibitors from 70 countries came to Hannover to showcase the latest flooring materials, colours, patterns and trends.

Domotex Middle East has been positioned as a must-attend event for flooring products manufacturers looking to expand their network within the region. The event targets wholesalers and retailers in the carpet and floor coverings sector, as well as decision-makers from construction companies, architects, interior designers, project planners, floor layers and fitters.

“Domotex Middle East showcases a wide array of high-quality floor covering products offering innovations and latest trends,” said Angela Schaschen, managing director, Deutsche Messe Dubai Branch.

Schaschen noted that the UAE continues to be a strong performer, and has retained its position as the region’s international trade fair hub. “Saudi Arabia is rapidly rising as one of the key markets,” she added. “The country currently has a 38% share of the total construction projects and is expected to award contracts worth $86 billion in 2011. Qatar, too, is a market that harbours great potential for the construction industry, which in turn provides the flooring industry with endless possibilities.”
