EC Harris delivers Abu Dhabi's largest hotel
Building the hotel was phase 2 of a three-phase master development
Consultancy firm EC Harris has successfully delivered phase two of the Al Wahda Sports Club master development in Abu Dhabi, which includes handing over Abu Dhabi’s largest hotel.
Providing project management and cost consultancy expertise during construction of the Grand Millennium Al Wahda, EC Harris was responsible for careful coordination and close technical and people management throughout the five-year project.
Situated in the center of Abu Dhabi city, the 5-star hotel contains 588 guestrooms and 262 furnished apartments making it the single largest hotel in the Emirate.
The project also features an office tower, a 30,000m2 business centre and a residential tower with 294 two, three and four bedroom apartments.
The project is phase two of a three-phase master development – which includes the ongoing extension to the existing Al Wahda Mall.
Speaking about the project, EC Harris’ regional leader for the Middle East John Williams said: “We are delighted to have bene involved in such a significant landmark project for Abu Dhabi.
“By adopting a dedicated management approach throughout the duration of the project we have been able to contribute to its overall success and ensure its timely delivery.”
Meanwhile, Al Wahda Sports Club’s chairman of the investment committee Rashid Al Zaabi added: "Our relationship with EC Harris has spanned more than five years and in that period we have become trusted partners and grown stronger as businesses and individuals.
“By working closely together and learning from each other, we have been able to focus on the core business needs at each stage of the development and ensure that this project was a success."
