ETA Melco has unveiled its new Nexiez lifts at a seminar in Oman on green technologies in building conveyance systems.

The seminar was attended by leading architects, consultants, promoters, developers and building owners. ETA Melco is a JV between ETA and Mitsubishi Electric Corporation of Japan.

“Lifts and escalators play an inevitable role in sustaining the vertical growth of our planet. Vertical transportation systems have been going through revolutionary technological changes for the better,” said Faisal Khamis Al Hashar, chairman of ETA Melco, Oman.

“With the advent of mandatory eco-friendly requirements for all engineering inventions, green technology has become the buzzword in building conveyance systems as well,” said Al Hashar.

By using regenerative converters that capture the kinetic energy generated by the movement of the Nexiez lift, building owners can use up to 35% less energy in elevator operations.

In addition, the option to redistribute this captured kinetic energy to power other sources in the building, such as lighting and office equipment, offers an attractive and eco-friendly solution for building operators wanting to be environmentally responsible.

Furthermore, the new Nexiez series features a permanent magnetic gearless traction machine capable of hoisting the rope using PM motors, which achieves size reduction and energy efficient operations.

“For building operators and contractors wanting to incorporate an environmentally responsible and efficient elevator system into their construction, the new Nexiez series is the perfect solution,” said Al Hashar.
