Abu Dhabi museums invite bids for subcontract work
Pre-qualification documents and responses to be submitted by March 3
The Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC) in Abu Dhabi is inviting pre-qualification applications for the systems integration sub-contract works for the Saadiyat Cultural District, museum projects.
The contract, which will include work on the Zayed National Museum, the Louvre Abu Dhabi and the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, is open to all suitable contractors with commensurate experience.
According to the prequalification invitation, contractors have until 17 February to register their interest and request a pre-qualification document (PQD), which they should arrange to be collected by February 22.
Final responses to the PQD must however, be submitted no later than Thursday 3 March.
It also specifies that interested companies must demonstrate successful delivery of relevant construction projects that meet certain requirements.
These requirements include such things as having recent experience on projects in similar size, character and complexity, and being a major registered construction company with representation in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Other important prerequisites include having had a minimum annual turnover for construction activities within the UAE of AED 60 million (US$16.3 million) in each of the last three years, and having successfully completed five projects each in excess of AED 40 million (US$10.9 million) within the UAE in the last three years.
There will be around ten companies shortlisted for the work. Main contracts have yet to be awarded on all three museum projects.
