The first phase of construction on the landmark structure in detail

Singapore's Marina Bay Sands hotel, a three tower development capped by a skypark linking all three, opened this past weekend.

The 57-storey, 207m tall towers are not the tallest in Singapore, but the unique shape and design makes them the most recognisable in the republic.

The towers were designed by architects Moshe Safdie and Associates and international firm Aedas, while structural engineering was completed by Arup.

You can check out pictures of the project here, and photographs of the work carried out on the Lotus-flower inspired museum here.
