Thiess Services wins Saadiyat golf club contract
Thiess to provide cleaning, MEP, pest control, security, recycling
Thiess Services Middle East has been awarded Saadiyat Beach Golf Club for a second year running.
The contract means Thiess will continue to provide the following integrated facilities management services to Troon Golf: cleaning, MEP maintenance, pest control, minor works, utility management, manned security, infrastructure maintenance, waste management, collection services, recycling, asset management and 24/7 help desk.
According to Richard Naylor, general manager, facilities management, Thiess Services, the team closely supported and assisted the golf club through the handover and transition from the main construction contractor to the operator (Troon Golf).
“We conducted a full asset survey and condition survey and uploaded the assets onto Maximo,” he said.
“We have continued that close support throughout the first year of the Defects Liability Period. The team has also worked very closely with Troon Golf to fit the operational needs of the club and its members by adopting a flexible approach to the daily cleaning and planned preventative maintenance schedules, this has been achieved by working around the clubs opening and closing times and the busy periods throughout the day.”
Saadiyat Beach Golf Club was designed by golfing legend, Gary Player, in Abu Dhabi.
Thiess has a dedicated working supervisor, visiting cleaners and housekeeping staff, supported by a mobile planned maintenance team and on site security guards. The team all report through to a Facilities Manager.
“We appreciate the extraordinary efforts Thiess have made for Troon during 2010 and look forward to the continued partnership during 2011”, said Ray Manulat, golf club general manager.
Thiess Services Middle East is a joint venture between the Al Habtoor Leighton Group and Thiess Services, an Australian company which is known as an environmental, facilities management, waste and utilities service provider.
