Belhasa Projects wins MEP contract on Al Ruwais
Swimming pool builder boosts revenue with AED19m deal to supply pipes
Belhasa Projects, a UAE specialist in the construction of swimming pools, has been awarded an MEP contract to supply and install pipelines at the Al Ruwais area oil field.
The company will provide 400mm high density polyethylene pipes to supply water to the workforce at in the area and provide the necessary testing and commissioning.
The contract, worth AED 19 million, was awarded by a consortium of Samsung Engineering, SK Engineering, GS Engineering, Daewoo and Zublin. The deal adds to the growing list of MEP contracts that Belhasa Projects has won since spinning off the service as a separate division in 2008, including the upward-flowing waterfalls for the Address Hotel in Dubai, the water features at the Yas Hotel at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi and the fountain at the entrance to the Burj Khalifa.
“The MEP division often works hand in hand with our Aquascapes division since there is a synergy in the nature of both businesses, and this has worked out well,” said Greg Garner, CEO, of Belhasa projects of the company’s burgeoning MEP division.
Last November the company launched an office in Doha soon after winning its first contract in the country from the Public Works Authority – a design and build contract for a tankered sewage discharge station and treated sewage effluent pumping Station for Barwa Al Baraha Sewage Treatment Plant.
