Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal is expected to sign an agreement over developmental projects for the Makkah Gate Project on the Haramain Expressway.

The project is worth billions and will spread over 80km2, changing the face of the city and will include residential districts, government buildings, a university and recreational centres.

The projects will be completed on both government and private properties and the entire development is expected to take 10 years to complete.

The aim is to develop Makkah into a modern city with advanced living facilities.

The university, called Hudaibiya, will be the second university in Makkah. The project will also include a cultural dialogue centre, a heritage village, a conference centre, a mosque, schools, gardens and cultural clubs.
