L&T to build villas in DSC

A joint venture of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and Eastern Contracting has won a US $150 million (AED550 million) contract to build the final phase of villas on the Victory Heights golfing residential community in Dubai Sports City.

A joint venture of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and Eastern Contracting has won a US $150 million (AED550 million) contract to build the final phase of villas on the Victory Heights golfing residential community in Dubai Sports City.

The client is Victory Heights Golf Residential and Development, a joint venture of Bahraini investment bank, Arcapita, and Dubai Sports City.

The work involves the construction of 295 villas.

"The awarding of this major contract to the L&T/Eastern Joint Venture Company is an assurance that we are well on schedule and are committed to the ultimate quality for Victory Heights," said Yasser Abdulla, general manager, Victory Heights.

"In close cooperation, L&T/Eastern will deliver one of the most luxurious and technically advanced residential communities in the world. By forming this joint venture, the new company will execute the development using its comprehensive synergy," he added.

The villas have been designed in 11 styles incorporating Mediterranean, Spanish and European architecture.

The units to be built by L&T/Eastern Joint Venture Company will be situated in the Carmen, Novelia, Calida and Morella Villages of the Victory Heights community.

Covering around 2.3 million m2, Victory Heights will be made up of 935 villas and townhouses set in and around The Dunes golf course.

The 18-hole championship golf course has been designed by golfer Ernie Els and will be complimented by the Butch Harmon Golf Academy.

Located in Dubai Sports City, the development will also include schools, retail and community facilities, along with a range of sports and leisure facilities.
