In video: Sandstorm brings Kuwait city to halt

A huge sandstorm in Kuwait engulfed the nation's capital on Friday

Scroll down for video of a massive sandstorm that engulfed the Kuwaiti capital on Friday.

With winds up to 80km/h, the storm swept across Kuwait, reducing visibility to zero in some areas and bringing road, air and sea traffic in the country to a standstill. Air traffic was suspended at Kuwait International Airport (KIA) until the sandstorms subsided, as were activities at the country's sea ports.
