Tenders have been submitted for a contract at the Dubai International Airport expansion that is expected to become the largest single MEP installation contract in Dubai.

The contract will cover the installation of MEP works in the under-construction Concourse three of the airport. The exact value of the contract has yet to be released but it is expected to involve a multi-billion Dirham deal, making it potentially the largest in the region.

MEP contractor Thermo confirmed that it is one of several bidders for the contract. The firm is currently undertaking various other MEP packages at the airport in deals totalling an estimated US $0.46 billion (AED1.7 billion).

The phased expansion of Dubai International Airport began in 2002 and is due to fully complete in 2018. Construction of terminal two and concourses two and three is scheduled for completion by the end of 2007.
