Masdar highlights importance of clean energy
Meeting between Masdar and GCC explores clean energy initiatives
Two meetings held in Abu Dhabi and Brussels saw Masdar Institute of Science and Technology and the Gulf Cooperation Council explore ideas on clean energy with the hope of developing a solid link between EU organisations and researchers and their GCC counterparts.
During the meeting in Abu Dhabi on 8 May, Masdar Institute members discussed the positive collaboration between GCC countries and the way towards effective communication between the representatives of the GCC for the Energy Network.
Masdar Institute led a workshop that highlighted the importance of the presence of the Network. Hamza Kazim, Vice-President, Operations & Finance; Dr. Scott Kennedy, Associate Dean for Research; and Dr. Sgouris Sgouridis, Assistant Professor from Masdar Institute, talked about ways of achieving results in the fields of renewable energy sources, energy efficiency and clean natural gas.
“We are really excited to support the development of the Network in the GCC, work along and exchange expertise and knowledge from our partner institutions, said Hamza to reporters at AMEinfo.com.
“Our GCC research institutions have strong research capabilities. We will be able to demonstrate that through joint research and closer collaborations to have our print on the world map for future energy,” he added.
