Drake & Scull International (DSI) has won a contract valued at KD4.5 million (AED58.5 million) from the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior.

Under the contract the firm will install heating, ventilation and air conditioning (hvac) services in the Special Forces Facility currently under construction in Sulaibhia, Kuwait.

"As it is essential for a project of this magnitude to have precise control over the air quality we will provide the most advanced hvac system available. This will be energy efficient and maintain indoor air quality through adequate ventilation and thermal comfort," explained Drake & Scull executive director Khaldoun Al Tabari.

The deal follows several recent wins for DSI in Kuwait; the firm has won contracts worth over KD15.75 million during the last year. "We are focused on strengthening our presence in the Gulf region, especially in high growth areas such as Kuwait," Tabari added.

Al Alamiah Building Construction is the main contractor on the Special Forces Facility. It is scheduled for completion in November 2009.
