Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA) will set up a first aid centre to meet the medical needs of employees and labourers working on projects within its premises.

The centre, to be set up in association with the Department of Health & Medical Services in Dubai, will have a number of certified personnel for the benefit of workers at construction sites and projects under development.

Khalil Odeh Shalan, director of operation and facility management - Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority, said: "With a dramatic increase in the number of projects coming up at the Silicon Oasis, it has become imperative to offer medical facilities, especially for construction workers and other employees.

"The first aid centre is being launched with the objective of treating employees working on these sites who suffer work-related injuries, and is in line with the rules and regulations of the Ministry of Labour."

He added that the establishment of the centre will ensure the health and safety of all employees at the DSO development, and cement DSOA's commitment to the community as a socially responsible organisation.
