Facebook has hired Gensler’s UK team to carry out the interior design of its new London office, according to BDOnline.

The staff of the social networking firm are moving from Carnaby Street to a listed former brewery in Covent Garden next year.

The three-storey premises will be able to house 260 people over 3,500m2.

The UK team had previously worked on Apple’s Covent Garden shop, and a spokeswoman said Facebook’s brief has “a serious emphasis on fun.”

In the Middle East, Gensler has worked on projects such as the Ritz-Carlton and the Gate Building in Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), and currently has ongoing work in many countries in the Middle East including Saudi Arabia, UAE and Turkey.
