Modon issues tender for new Saudi industrial city
Modon tenders development of Hafr Al-Batin Industrial City in Saudi
A project to develop the Hafr Al-Batin Industrial City in Saudi Arabia has been tendered by Modon, which currently oversees three industrial cities in the Eastern Province.
“The industrial sector in the Eastern Province is considered to be the most important strategic investment in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” said Modon DG Tawfig Alrabiah.
A $67m contract to develop a third industrial city in Dammam has also been signed by Abdullah Zainal Alireza, Minister of Commerce and Industry and Modon chairman.
The 480ha industrial city is located south of Dammam on Abqaiq road, 25km away from Dammam’s second industrial city. The duration of the project is 24 months.
Hafar Al-Batin is in the Eastern Province in the Northeastern region of Saudi. It is 480km north of Riyadh, and 90km from the Kuwait border and 70km from the Iraq border. The city lies in the Wadi al-Batin, part of the larger Wadi Al-Rummah, which leads inland toward Madinah.
