Trans Gulf Electro-Mechanical has signed contracts worth US$65 million for two Dubai-based healthcare projects.

The firm will undertake full MEP works at the Harvard Medical School in Dubai's Healthcare City and Canal Point Hospital, Jebel Ali. The contracts for the works are valued at $25 million and $40 million respectively.

Trans Gulf has begun work onsite at the Harvard Medical School project and is scheduled to complete in 14 months. The school will be served by the 25,000TR district cooling plants that the firm is currently completing at the development under existing contracts.

The contractor is currently completing initial design work for the Canal Point Hospital in conjunction with the MEP consultant. "Mobilisation is ongoing and we will be starting work on site within the next two months," confirmed Trans Gulf director Prakash Khatri. The contract is scheduled to last for two years. Canal Point is a mixed-use development created by Istithmar. The hospital is one of the key elements of the project and is being developed in partnership with Thailand-based Bumrungrad International Hospital.
