Danway Electrical & Mechanical Engineering has won a US $4 million (AED14.7 million) contract for work on a new potline at Dubai Aluminium's Jebel Ali facility.

Under the contract, the firm will install the complete electrical instrumentation systems, including all controls, for Potline 6B at the facility. Some associated equipment will be free issued by Dubal for the works.

Danway has been one of Dubal's preferred contractors for 13 years and is currently undertaking over $20 million of work for the firm in a series of packages. It recently installed the electrical instrumentation for Potline 5B, completing the works one month ahead of programme. Work on Potline 6B is scheduled for completion in December 2007.

This is one of a series of recent project wins for Danway. In July the firm won a $5 million contract for the complete electrical instrumentation systems at the ENOC International Refining and Marketing (IRM) Trading Terminal Fujairah Port project. The firm is currently undertaking engineering and procurement activities and is due to begin on site in September. The works are due to be completed within six months.
