Bahrain authorises $3.97bn in industrial projects

A total of 300 of 546 projects granted licenses, currently underway

Over $3.97bn worth of industrial projects have been approved by Bahrain's government since 2009, Industry and Commerce Minister Dr. Hassan Fakhro has said.

About 300 of 546 projects, valued at $2,498m, have been granted licenses and are currently underway. In 2009, 127 of these projects were given final approval, while 140 were given final status in 2010.

In the first quarter of this year alone, Bahrain approved 51 industrial projects and handed out 33 industrial licenses worth $291.7m.
