WCT-Arabtec deny Meydan involvement

Malaysian construction company, WCT Engineering, in a joint venture with UAE-based Arabtec, has denied reports that it has won a US $1.3 billion (AED4.7 billion) contract to build a new Meydan horse racing project in Dubai.

Malaysian construction company, WCT Engineering, in a joint venture with UAE-based Arabtec, has denied reports that it has won a US $1.3 billion (AED4.7 billion) contract to build a new Meydan horse racing project in Dubai.

Two separate statements released last week by both WCT and Arabtec denied having won any contract to build a racecourse in Dubai.

WCT said: "Neither the company nor any of its joint ventures have been awarded the contract for the Dubai racecourse job."
