Galfar Engineering & Contracting Company has been awarded a $36.4m contract by the Public Authority for Electricity & Water (PAEW) for the construction of a water pipeline in Oman, the company said in a filing to the Muscat Securities Market.

The pipeline will transport water from Wadi Adai to Amerat. The project will be completed in 545 days, in addition to 60 days for mobilisation.

Galfar VP J.K. Salvi said: "It is a medium-sized water-supply contract that has been awarded by PAEW. Our order book is well over $1.3bn. This project will add another $36.4m."

Salvi said construction will commence as soon as the contract has been ratified by the Ministry for Financial Affairs, which could take around two months.

"The outlook for future orders is very bright, and we will continue to expand our order book," he concluded.
