FM companies have to look into offering integrated services as there is no value in outsourcing says Al Shirawi FM.

The company, which will be exhibiting at November’s FM Expo, says facilities management is a considerable cost for developers. In the GCC alone, FM is a $5bn annual industry. Outsourcing multiple maintenance requirements to just one provider can result in up to 20% savings a year.

Navin Valrani, CEO of Al Shirawi FM, said: “Developers are realising that outsourcing their FM needs to several different suppliers simply isn’t as cost or time effective anymore. There are options now; developers don’t have to sacrifice quality for cost, and we’re finally seeing a change in habits.”

Valrani also confirmed that the surge in newly completed properties across Dubai has resulted in a sales increase for Al-Shirawi. This, he expects, will force the growth of FM across the region in 2012.

“The abundance of newly completed properties across Dubai has had a strong impact on the FM sector. Properties need to be managed, whether vacant or not, which has resulted in a 25% increase in sales for us at Al Shirawi this year.”
