Canadian University of Dubai offer FM-related courses
Undergraduates will be able to study facilities management related courses at the Canadian University.
The Canadian University of Dubai (CUD) will offer 'technical management' courses aimed at the facilities management industry.
A business management element will be incorporated within the courses, to combine theory and applied studies.
"The programmes add a business component. It is not only about theory, it's about business management," said Dr. Karim Chelli, principal, CUD.
"As educators we want to align applied programmes to the market. Graduates need to know that they are prepared for the industry," added Dr. Chelli.
At an organised open day, potential students were introduced to the courses on offer. Programmes include applied science and technology, electrical engineering and environmental health.
"Engineering by itself is not easy. Some companies don't want a pure engineer, they need someone who takes the technical aspects and incorporates business and management. So we are producing 'technical management' courses that will enable the students to understand both aspects," said Dr. Mohamed El Sherbiny, School of Engineering, Applied Science and Technology.
CUD also provides students the opportunity to study in affiliated Universities in Canada and France.
