$64.7m tender for Bahrain housing project
Great Lakes Dredge & Dock, Nass Contracting clinch reclamation deal
A $64.7m contract to begin the first-phase reclamation of the East Hidd housing project in Bahrain has been clinched by Great Lakes Dredge & Dock and Nass Contracting.
Bahrain Housing Minister Basim bin Yacob Alhamer signed the agreement with Great Lakes CEO Jonathan Berger and Nass CEO Ghazi Abdulla Nass.
"The Ministry is placing great ambitions on this project in resolving the list of names requiring housing units, especially those in the Muharraq governorate, which would provide 4,000 to 5,000 houses," said Minister Alhamer.
The project is expected to commence shortly. It will ultimately cover 227ha and accommodate 25,000 people.
