Manazel completes $27m cooling plant at Al Reef
Developer hands over nine of its 46 buildings at Al Reef Downtown
Manazel Real Estate has completed a $27.4m district cooling plant at its Al Reef Downtown project in Abu Dhabi. The 8,000TR plant will provide 28,000kW of cooling energy, said H.E. Mohammed Mehana Al Qubaisi, chairman of Manazel Real Estate.
In addition, Manazel has handed over nine of its 46 buildings at Al Reef Downtown. The project forms part of Al Reef Villas Community, spanning 100ha close to Abu Dhabi International Airport.
The first stage of Al Reef Downtown was completed in December 2011, with the handover of 336 residential units. This will be followed by the delivery of 347 units by the end of April, 343 units in July and 340 units in September.
The final phase will be completed with the handover of 452 residential units, in addition to retail stores and the community plaza at the end of December this year.
Al Reef Downtown covers 130,639m2. It consists of 46 G+5 buildings, which include 1,818 residential units, from studio, to one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, ranging from 33m2 to 231m2.
Al Reef Downtown will include commercial and retail amenities, in addition to banks and currency exchange outlets. Geant supermarket has signed its second contract with Manazel to open a 2,000m2 within Al Reef Downtown.
The first contract was signed earlier this year, marking Geant's first hypermarket in Abu Dhabi at Manazel's Capital Mall, where it will take up 7,200m2.
Al Reef Villas encompasses a total of 4,194 residential units and villas, with a capacity to accommodate 15,000 residents.
