The expansion of Jeddah, and its massive investment in infrastructure, will come under the spotlight at the Jeddah Expansion 2012 conference on 27 March at the Park Hyatt in Jeddah.

The Mayor of Jeddah, H.E. Dr. Hani Mohammad Abo Ras, will deliver the welcoming address at the conference. "Jeddah is commissioning major expansion programmes in housing, transportation, urban regeneration and infrastructure," says Dr. Ras.

"The Jeddah Expansion 2012 Conference will provide a complementary opportunity to all stakeholders. As city government, we facilitate growth by providing infrastructure and a premier community atmosphere for our city residents," says Dr. Ras.

The conference brings together key contractors, architectural and engineering firms and government bodies to discuss the project pipeline for residential, commercial and hotel real estate in Jeddah, as well as contract and tendering updates for future developments in the city.

The speaker line-up includes: Raeed Al Dakheel, CEO, Mawten Real Estate; Majed Al Hogail, CEO, Rafal Real Estate Development Company;  Dr. Hamza Koshak, Director General of the Architecture and Engineering Office for Jeddah, Makkah and Yanbu, and Andrew Hopkins, Regional Director at AECOM.

Focus will also be given to the emerging trend for high-rise buildings in Jeddah, with participation from Jeremy Lester, the CEO of Grocon, and Radwan Hariri, Head of Development & Operations at Oger Real Estate (ORE).

Renowned architect Dr. Sami Angawi will be present on a panel to discuss how traditional values of Islamic architecture can be maintained. Click here for more details:
