New contractor to be appointed for Tameer Towers
Tender for Abu Dhabi project awarded by April, says Tameer
Real-estate developer Tameer has issued a tender for a new contractor complete its Tameer Towers project in Abu Dhabi by Q4 2013.
The new tender was issued early in February, with an anticipated award due before the end of April, according to Tameer president Federico Tauber.
To date, 21% of the work has been completed, with Towers A and B having reached structural levels 13 and 4 respectively. The majority of the complex structural elements have now been completed.
“With the anticipated award to the new contractor in April, and the commencement of works scheduled for May, Phase A of the development is targeted for completion by the fourth quarter of next year,” said Tauber.
Tameer Towers comprises four residential towers (227m), a commercial tower (300m), stepped townhouses and lofts, serviced apartments, a 350-key five-star hotel and a canal promenade. It will offer 100 serviced apartments and 140 high-end residential units.
The centrepiece is the 74-storey diamond-shaped Commercial Tower. Split at the base, it will straddle the canal and pedestrian walkway that connect the Central Park and the sea.
