Meydan have announced the appointment of Banyan Tree as operators for the horseracing city's hotel.
Meydan have announced the appointment of Banyan Tree as operators for the horseracing city's hotel. A leading developer, designer and operator of top-tier hotels, resorts, spas and galleries, Banyan Tree will manage a hotel complex and an all-pool villa resort.
Douglas Small, head of projects at Dubai Racing Club said that this announcement demonstrated the level of luxury the hotel was to reach. "It is a very exclusive organisation who only take on particular hotels." While specific details are yet to be finalised he added that the hotel should feature in the region of 300-400 rooms. The hotel will adjoin the main grandstand, with all suites having a direct unobstructed view of racetrack.
Meydan racecourse and Meydan City are being designed by leading Malaysian firm Teo A Khing (TAK) design consultants. Last month the first phase contract was awarded to a joint venture of Arabtec and Malaysian firm WCT Engineering worth $1.29 billion (AED 4.6 billion).
