Sky Construction will be inviting sub-contractors to bid for the piling and enabling works on the US $190million (AED 700million) Goldcrest Dreams 3 in December, with plans for construction to start in the beginning of 2008.

Hamza Muhammad Rafiq, managing director of Sky Construction said: "We will be inviting contractors to bid in two months."

Sky Construction is the main in-house contractor for the new development, and for Goldcrest 1 and 2, which are middle-market residential towers in the Emirates City development in Ajman.

Goldcrest Dreams 3 is the third phase of construction for the development, with plans for completion in 2011, by the joint venture between Mayzood Giga and ETA Star.

Abid Junaid, executive director, ETA Star said: "We have the option of continuing with the same contractors. It will all depend on the bids received, and the prices from each contractor, but it's an option to leave it open for bids."

The Goldcrest Dreams development is the first freehold residential project to be built in Ajman, and aims to offer affordable housing. The towers will stand at 25 floors high, and will be surrounded by lakes, waterways and fountains.

The joint venture sees Ajman as having great potential. Amir Pardesi, vice chairman of Mayzood Giga said: "Ajman is a fast growing city and we want to offer our clients opportunities there. We find the land to be more moderately priced in Ajman than Dubai, and this means we can cater to the common man."

Star Giga built mock apartments in the Dubai World Trade Centre this week to launch their sale to the public. They will be fully equipped apartments built as part of the sales centre.
