The Middle East Drymix Mortar Association (Medma) will hold its opening conference and inauguration ceremony at the Big 5 show this year.

The conference, on drymix mortars, will take place at 4pm on 30 October at the seminar room B above the Sheikh Maktoum Hall in Dubai International Exhibition Centre.

“A building might be what you live and work in, but what you actually see are the various kinds of drymix mortars that have been used to finish it, said Ferdinand Leopolder, secretary to the Founding Committee of Medma.

“Drymix mortars are in the walls [masonry mortars], on the walls [renders, plasters, tile adhesives], under the carpets or floor tiles [self-levelling underlayments] and they prevent energy loss by providing external thermal insulation.

For the booming construction industry in the Middle East, drymix mortars represent a key technology to increase building speed and improve efficiency and the work environment, reduce repair and maintenance costs and to present a high-quality, aesthetically pleasing and long-lasting units to buyers.

Technical experts for drymix mortar will meet with the specifiers (consultants, developers) and discuss all aspects of manufacturing, packaging, product performance, quality assurance and application technology.

Medma is the industry association for drymix mortar manufacturers and their suppliers throughout the Middle East.

It promotes drymix mortar technology as a fast, safe, efficient, economical, ecological, and energy-saving way to build.
