Al Fahim Group opens Al Ain DoT bus service centre
Service centre for Al Ain's public buses will be open 365 days a year
A service and maintenance centre for the fleet of public busses in Al Ain has been opened by Eastern Motors, the Mercedes-Benz dealership in Al Ain, and a business unit of Al Fahim Group.
Al Ain has a fleet of 100 public transport Mercedes-Benz buses, operated by the Department of Transport, and the centre will service the bus fleet.
Boasting a team of 40 staff, the centre will operate around-the-clock, 365 days-a-year to provide required servicing and maintenance.
“Tailored to cater to the Department of Transport exclusively, our five-year repair and maintenance agreement with the government organisation guarantees the constant availability of staff at all times to provide round the clock service, keeping in line with the huge demand on service required for the public transport sector” said Nassim Mourani, EM General Manager.
The DoT public buses in Al Ain operates 18-hours-a-day, and transports more than 25,000 passengers daily through Al Ain City areas and suburbs. With the long operational hours, public buses need to be maintained on daily.
The opening ceremony was attended by Saeed Al Hameli, GM Bus Office, DoT; Saeed Al Fahim, Chairman of Alfahim Group; Rashed Abdul Jalil Al Fahim, MD of Alfahim Group; Chris Preston, CEO of Alfahim Group’s Automotive Division; Nassim Mourani, GM of Eastern Motors as well as Mike Belk, President & CEO of Daimler Middle East & Levant.
