Looking for cool customers
Air conditioning continues to be an essential component of any construction project in the Middle East.
Air conditioning continues to be an essential component of any construction project in the Middle East. More sophisticated systems, capable of doing more than just cooling and circulating air, are being developed and a number will be showcased at this year's Big 5.
With over three decades of product innovation behind them, Switzerland-based Belimo is one of the global giants that will be exhibiting at the event. The company provides electric actuators for air dampers and valve technology for heating, ventilation and air-con systems.
It plans to launch a number of new products. Among them is a fan optimiser, which controls fans based on demand, meaning that supply pressure regulation can be dispensed with and fan energy consumption cut by 50%.
Belimo's latest fire protection system, Monico, monitors and controls up to eight fire damper actuators and up to 14 slave controllers, effectively drawing smoke out of the rooms within a building in the event of a fire, preventing fire and smoke from spreading, thereby increasing evacuation time for occupants.
"We have achieved a lot as a company in the last year," said Al-Abdul Wahid, managing director, Belimo Automation. "In addition to opening our Dubai office, we also assembled our 30 millionth actuator, and we are now looking forward to another highly successful Big 5 exhibition."
