Snasco has signed a memorandum of understanding with City Cool for district cooling and the related works at its Sharjah Investment Center (SIC) project.

The agreement aims to appoint a single firm for all the district cooling work along with the construction of district cooling plants and electrical energy to the project's plots.

"We trust in City Cool's ability to deliver high performance and transparency, and we are confident that the cooling works will be developed correctly, and on time," said Dr Omar Al Mushaabi, Snasco director manager.

At the end of October, Darwish Engineering Emirates won a contract worth around US $136 million (AED 499 million) for the infrastructure works on SIC.

The project will be spread across a 2.9 million m2 site close to Sharjah International Airport and Hamriyah Free Zone.

It will be made up of industrial and logistics facilities, commercial and residential buildings, two hotels, recreational facilities and a cricket pitch.
