The Tower Project of the Year Award at the CW Qatar Awards 2012 went to Qatar Silhouette Tower. A total of 13 awards were presented at the high-profile event held at the Grand Hyatt in Doha last night, attended by 300 people.

Despite having "had its difficulties to say the least", the project was delivered successfully, with the judges praising the teams involved in making a success of this "highly stylish" building. The "high level of finishing" was also commented upon by the judges.

Qatar Petroleum District was Highly Commended by the judges for "some astonishing results, in particular considering the logistics and safety record."

The award was presented by Tekla Middle East director Tahir Sharif to Hill International director Michael Jameson and operations director James Duncan.

"This was a challenging project in that we took it over after the structure had already been completed," said Jameson. "We would like to express our appreciation to the owner, H.E. Mohammad Ajjaj Al Kubaisi, for placing his confidence in us."

"We have been in Qatar a decade now, and have been involved in numerous tower projects in West Bay," said Duncan. "This is all to the credit of our highly experienced and expert team."
