Philips wins supply contract for LEED rated hospital
Philips has won a contract to supply and install lighting equipment for Jordan’s first LEED-rated hospital according to a statement from the company.
The ‘landmark’ agreement will consist of 15 advanced imaging solution systems, healthcare informatics and services in addition to a suite of 20 ambient experience rooms at the Farah Medical Complex in Jordan.
Recognised as what will be the largest installation of ambient experience rooms in the world, the systems are designed to create relaxed environments for patients. Philips has also ensured that part of the contract will allow ongoing studies into the positive effects of ambient lighting.
Speaking on behalf of the Farah Hospital, founder and director, Dr. Zaid Kilani said: “We are delighted to be working with Philips to fulfil our vision of creating a state-of-the-art hospital which not only offers access to advanced technologies, but is also designed to provide an environment uniquely conducive to patients’ health and well-being.
