Australia-based Pioneer Water Tanks has been producing Middle East-specific water storage units for 15 years and continues to develop the technology. The company's tanks are constructed of modular bolted-steel panels, which makes them easy to transport and install.
"Bascially, you could have a 500,000 litre water tank commissioned and installed with water, in two days," said Isaak Dury, export consultant with Pioneer Water Tanks.
Pioneer's tanks are involved in construction works and humanitarian projects throughout the world, and given the specific conditions of the country, can be effective in any environment. "We're using a liner that is designed for Middle Eastern water. This is a PVC-based liner so it can be thrown about a bit and can handle this region's harsh conditions," said Dury.
"Middle East water is mostly desalinated water so it's a little harder because there's more chlorine in it, so we've had to adapt our products to fit the market. As a result, we've got a tried and tested product that is very successful."
Moreover, for the Middle East, Pioneer's water tanks are specifically constructed of a zinc alloy combination, which prevents another major obstacle in this region: corrosion. "In the Middle East there is a problem with corrosion, but we've seen Pioneer tanks that have been here for 15 years without any corrosion at all. So, this product is absolutely perfect for this market," added Dury.
