Chicago firm wins Muscat, Salalah airport contract
JBT Coporation secures $20m deal with Oman's ministry for transport
Chicago’s JBT Corporation has won a contract worth over $20m to supply gate equipment for Oman’s new airport terminals, awarded by the Sultanate's Ministry of Transport and Communications.
The order clinched by JBT's AeroTech business unit includes the supply of 40 Jetway passenger boarding bridges for the new terminal at Muscat International Airport and a further eight of the same for Salalah Airport.
The design of the project allows for future expansion as determined by demand.
"We are very pleased to be a part of these important regional development programs through the building of new airport terminals in the Sultanate of Oman," said John Lee, VP and division manager, JBT AeroTech.
JBT anticipates installation of the gate equipment to be completed by Q2 2014.
