Amana Contracting and Steel Buildings has been awarded a contract from Nakheel to design and build a new commercial complex at Dubai Maritime City.

The project is made up of 11 commercial buildings and a range of workshops, warehouses, shops and showrooms covering an area of 86,000m2 at the development in Port Rashid.

Turner International has been appointed project manager and Al Wasl al Jadeed is the Technical Design Consultant.

“This is a milestone for Amana as it demonstrates the companys leadership in fast-track, turnkey construction of commercial and industrial facilities, said Jihad Bsaibes, general manager, Amana.

“We are delighted that Nakheel has chosen Amana, as it is public validation of our expertise in providing comprehensive design-build solutions from conception through to construction and completion.

He added: “Our credentials and our ability to provide a cost-effective and fast-track solution to the construction of such buildings was, we believe, a key factor in our selection. To design and construct a project of this magnitude in such a limited time frame is a logistical challenge in itself.

While quality of construction remains our primary focus, we are confident of completing it on time and within budget.

Amana has been contracted to complete the project in less than 410 days.
