Hempel unveils new eco-friendly paints range
Contex Thermoguard exterior paint made with pigments to cool buildings
Danish paint manufacturer Hempel has unveiled a new range of environmentally-friendly paints ath the Sustainable Buildings Materials & Construction Technologies (SBMCT) conference at Dubai's Hyatt Regency hotel.
The firm's regional R&D manager Johnson Puthanangady said the new Contex Thermoguard exterior coating brand is formulated with special pigments to help reduce temperatures both in office and residential buildings.
Puthanangady said: “Governments across the region are increasingly enforcing new regulations that are geared towards sustainable and environment-friendly development. Dubai, for instance, has introduced its own green building code, which has prompted developers and contractors to proactively adopt sustainable construction materials, technologies and techniques.
"Hempel’s eco-friendly paints have therefore been developed to satisfy the growing sustainability and environmental concerns. Specifically, Hempel’s green profile is optimised for reducing VOC emissions, reducing hazardous material, reducing health hazards, minimising energy consumption and reducing waste."
