The landmark, 31-year-old five-star Sheraton Hotel on the Corniche near West Bay in Doha is to undergo a major renovation budgeted at between $137.3m to $192.2m (QR500m to QR700m), Katara Hospitality has announced.

The renovation project is being implemented in conjunction with Qatari Diar, Katara Hospitality CEO Hamad Abdulla Al Mulla told Al Sharq.

The renovation encompasses rebuilding all facilities, including floors, wall decorations, furniture and the conference centre. The entrance of the Sheraton Hotel from the Sheraton Roundabout will also be upgraded.

The hotel will be closed for business during the renovations. A timeframe for the project has not been divulged.
