Brazil's trade mission reaps $47.2m of deals

NEWS, Business

Brazilian firms on a recent trade mission to the UAE and Saudi Arabia signed more than $47m worth of deals with Middle East firms, according to trade body Apex Brasil.

The 30 firms representing sectors including construction, housing, auto parts and food & beverage met more than 200 companies from KSA, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, Iraq, Oman, Bahrain and Jordan during the visits to the UAE and KSA.

Mauricio Borges, president of Apex-Brasil, said: “We were overwhelmed by the business generated during this trade mission, which clearly underscores the strength of the trade relations between Brazil and countries in the Middle East and Levant regions.

"The mission created concrete opportunities for Brazilian companies to consolidate existing business in this important market and also facilitated the opening of new space for Brazilian products, while attracting investments to Brazil.”
